Looks valid to me, and makes more sense than their current implementation.
Currently, when you're closing one of the MANY programs that are usually open, you can only interact with the small strip across the bottom of the phone.
Four icons at a time...you HAVE to scroll... and you can't use landscape mode to see more icons at a time either.
(Really a poor UI design as it doesn't make efficient use of the limited available screen space.)
Hopefully, we'll see this soon... (as well as the option for a landscape homescreen..... with active icons. :-/

well,i suppose this begins the leave PPC users in the dumps trend. along with the 802.11pre-draft n or whatever cards in the C2D macs, upgrading is becoming a more realistic possibility for me every day.

No. A car that gets 50mpg is likely much lighter than a car that gets 8mpgs... and hence doesn't put near as much wear on the road
Consider, if all cars were the size of a Smart ForTwo, or the awaited ForFour, a two lane road could become 3 lanes. ;)
Trucks and Hummers would just drive down the middle. :D

Yes this still bothers me. It makes great demo, to borrow a phrase from Fearless Leader, but it's scratched in some way in the first 5 minutes and after a month, Ugh... after a year: Scratchapalooza.

The effect of terrorists to the West is enormously magnified by our reaction to them. How many Western deaths have been caused through terrorism in the last 15 years. 5000? Probably less than 200 in the last 5 years.
How many soldiers have been killed in subsequent wars? Over 7000 (http://icasualties.org/).
How many civilians have been killed in these wars? 100s of thousands.
And how much are we spending on this? What is the 'opportunity cost' of that lost cash - which could have been spent on health care/research/education?
I think we need to learn to ignore the 'short game' of small terrorist outrages and instead concentrate on the 'long game', which the West is undoubtably winning.
Terrorists represent a tiny proportion of radicals, that bubble to the surface of large populations of unhappy, poor and repressed people. Those underlying populations are changing though... all across North Africa and the Arab world people are mobilising to gain democracy, spurred on by the slow liberalising Western influence of open communication technologies and culture. This 'long game' political change is MUCH more significant than OBL's death.
Take away the unhappy cultures that breed terrorists won't completely remove risk - but it will make terrorism more the action of criminals, and less of a 'clash of cultures'. Smart Western political leadership would sell terrorist outrages as 'random acts of criminal radicals' not 'we must go to war with the axis of evil'.
All Obama has to do is decide whether he can afford to stop propping up the US military industrial complex.
It is a bit like spending a trillion dollars trying to invent an anti lighting hat (rather unsuccessfully). While totally ignoring cancer research :confused:.

I figured this would be coming once I seen the Pioneer VSX-1021-K.
Me too! I am in the market for a new home theater set up, and the Pioneer was near the top of my list because of its compatibility with AirPlay. It would be nice to have it built in my new LED TV as well.

Not a good survey. The stats seem wrong based on what I'm seeing everywhere else. 2000 people is not a large enough sample set. And although the 40% higher demand makes sense given the full year that took place between introduction of "tablets" as a concept versus as an established product, it means very little.
Why do you say 2000 people is not a large enough sample? Do you know statistical sampling methods?
I'm not saying this survey isn't flawed... just sample size doesn't have to be that large.

Works perfectly for me (using Air Video and the latest beta server) since 4.3 came out.
hmmmm mine has never worked. the audio always works but i can never see the video part. pictures also work as well.

I would take the NDP and higher taxes over rolling our social programs backwards. I can see, however, that our politics are drifting ever more towards a left/right schism, just like the US. As I said before, I would like to see all three major parties move towards the center.

DVD's are cheap, people have DVD drives makes sense to have it available as ONE of the formats. Why do users other than MBA owners need to have it come on a thumb drive?

I have a Verizon iPhone, and I had it happen. At midnight last night, my phone rolled back to 11pm. I went in to change it manually, and turning off DST corrected it. I left DST and rebooted my phone, and its worked perfectly since. It stayed at midnight then, and this morning, it has successfully rolled forward.
So yes, there is a bug, but a reboot fixed it for me.

As someone pointed out above, Powerchips (http://www.powerchips.gi/index.shtml) seems much neater. Their insulation/conduction effect comes from a cool application of quantum mechanics and nano-etching. However, as they point out--and as I worry for the guys mentioned here--the chip actually insulates as it generates electricity. Thus it would get power from the heat of the CPU, but it also raises the temperature of the CPU by insulating it. I wonder whether these guys would have the same problem (perhaps not if they lose more heat to conduction).

Don't wanna jinx anything, but living in New Orleans, we almost always seem to be under the national average when it comes to gas prices - paid $3.49/gal yesterday at Sam's Club. Shell tends to be more expensive, holding around $3.75/gal right now.
I can't even *imagine* living in California with the prices creeping towards $5/gal... :eek:

Oh I didn't realize they wanted to eliminate funding, I thought it was just an argument over reducing it.
Not only that, but if they really just wanted to achieve a 2% spending cut, they wouldn't've had to include such a touchy program in the list. Seems to me like they don't care if the government shuts down, since they believe the Democrats will get the blame, so they either let the gov shut down or they force Democrats to accept their cuts. It's a win-win for them.

I have read numerous threads concerning this issue but seems like they are related to jailbreaking? I have not done this. Ihad purchased a number of apps and had not yet backed up on my itunes- therefore do not want to have to restore.

I suspect the next iPhone, released in June, July, or September will be largely unchanged from the 4. An A5, sure. Maybe higher storage capacities. A "world" model, from what the Verizon exec said. Black or white. That's about it.My thoughts exactly.
