This reminds me of a history project I had back in high school. We were to tally up all of our household (then parents house) goods made in china. The idea was to give us perspective of were our money was going. Obviously I found a lot of what I was looking for but I was more surprised of how little of our possessions were made in America. Even now, much of my possession are foreign made...mostly japanese and chinese :rolleyes:

Wouldn't using the "extra" electricity to power fans to decrease heat lead to less "extra" electricity???? :rolleyes: I hope they really think this through - and I'm sure they will. Of course powering fans isn't the only use for electricity.

I frankly fail to see what the deal is with a possible 10.4.1x. I just dont see why people make such a big deal out of nothing. If it comes it comes, if it don't... well then.

most of us are saying that the outside is great but the entire inside needs to be redisigned anyway for the hot under the paste merom and the new chip set for santarosa, duo2 is a different board too i think. my point is this, because intel promised cool chips apple discarded some thermal buffer when they madi mbp less than 1 inch, now their faced with a redesign for a processor that will be 0utdated in 3 months or the will spend thwe time to give us a place holder that wont cook our sausage.

The military and the Army has had a "dialogue" with Apple for years... pretty much every project involving a piece of field equipment has gone to another manufacturer because of durability concerns.

So far the push notifications are working very well. However, the contact syncing actually deleted all of my contacts and replaced them with some contacts from facebook that were NOT even close to being correct. I'm not too happy about this at all. It ended up pushing these changes to my MobileMe cloud so I have basically lost all of my contacts. Way to go facebook!

will this be available in coach or is this just a first class option?
It may be in all classes if it's on seat-back displays. First class usually gets better displays than that, as the seat is usually quite a distance in front of the people in 1st class. :o
And besides, what good is a service like this when the large majority of travellers will never see this?

I hope they add a little app icon to the bottom of those multitasking preview windows.. like they did with expose in Lion... I think this is a much nicer way to navigate recent open applications.. Can't wait to see it on the iPad! But what about swiping to the left of the first homescreen???? DASHBOARD!!!??? :D

Oh... grow up would you. Don't take your bat and ball home. It's a bit of fun, a bit of a chuckle, a bit of rebellion over the xfactor. Just because RATM have won, doesn't mean that the xfactor is going to be axed and Simon Cowell is going back to his Mr Blobby days.
If anything, this has helped the music industry, the thought of actually rebelling against the conveyer belt "machine" being the xfactor has actually inspired people to buy music, getting more people interested in the competition and reducing music piracy. People have supported who they want to win by buying the songs, unlike before, where a few thousand people would buy Joe's song, and the xfactor would win. If anything, Simon Cowell should be happy that there has been an interest in his and RATM's song.

The most popular record, at the time, wins. People don't just buy the xfactor winners single because of the name - they buy it because they like it (and it's usually more than a few thousand btw). Whether you, or I, agree with that is irrelevant. It is fact. There has also been no significant reduction in music piracy as a result of this campaign.
There has been no 'rebellion'. All the campaign has done is increased the amount of money Sony Music Entertainment have taken in this Christmas (both of the Artists are attributed to Sony). This goes back to my original point about the whole thing being meaningless (unless of course the aim was to simply make more money for Sony).
